Mike Warren in 2005, started remediating residential buildings after completing the Alberta Carpenter apprenticeship Course at SAIT. While framing houses for Morrison Homes of Calgary, building products that were used created moisture problems.
Building Envelope, which is considered to be the physical separator between the interior and exterior environments of a building were the responsibility of the framers and laborers. Alberta building codes were/are sub standard and houses were/are being built to fast. Back then; we framed a house in two weeks.
Mending Homes Inc was created out of passion to help repair poor building practices and the greed of developers who created poor quality residential housing. As a trained Building Envelope Technician and Mold Remediator, Mike Warren understands the science of building moisture and has worked with Engineers, home owners and condo boards to help lead the way defining standards and innovation.
Foundation, roof, walls, doors and windows, are the main factors that determine the effectiveness and durability of a house. From all the aspects of inspection and repair, creates the Mending Homes categories of "What we do".
Since 2005, Mike Warren has inspected or repaired over one hundred residential homes and buildings in Calgary, Canmore, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, London England and Lourdes France.
